In 1999 and 2000, the Prius welcomed the International Engine of the Year award. Also, Prius was the first hybrid car to achieve 130.794mph on the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah.
In 2003, the second generation (2004 model) made its debut. This midsized sedan collected almost all of the awards in the automotive industry.
