Hybrid Sales Tax Exemption:

Hybrids that achieve a rating of 40 MPG or more will be exempt from the 6% state sales tax.

Free Parking in New Haven:

Hybrid vehicles registered in New Haven are entitled to free parking at metered spots throughout the city. Vehicle owners must buy a decal to qualify for the incentive. *Vehicles still remain subject to time restrictions*

Hybrid Sales Tax Exemption *bill*:

HB5458. Hybrids achieving a rating of 40MPG or higher city or highway would qualify for the sales tax exemption.

Hybrid Property Tax Exemption *bill*:

HB6564 Hybrid vehicles purchased from July 1, 2007 on would be exempt from the local property tax on the vehicle.

Hybrid Municipality Property Tax Abatement *bill*:

SB318/SB980/HB5921 would give Municipalities the right to abate property taxes for hybrids and AFVs. (The amounts would be determined by the local legislative body).

State Hybrid HOV *bill*:

HB5782/HB5281 Would amend the statutes to allow hybrids to use the HOV lanes regardless of number of passengers.
