Wilmette Hybrid Sticker Fee Discount:

The city is providing a discount to vehicles meeting the EPA’s SmartWay or SmartWay Elite criteria. The discounted fees apply as follows: $25 for SmartWay Elite vehicles and $50 for cars meeting SmartWay criteria. *currently there are only 2 models sold in Illinois that meet the SmartWay Elite criteria, the Honda Civic Hybrid and Honda Civic GX NGV*

Frankfort Hybrid Sticker Fee Waiver:

The board voted to waive the $5 registration sticker fee for hybrid vehicles.

Hybrid Tax Credit *bill*:

HB608 would create a $500 income tax credit for purchasers of hybrid or flexible fuel vehicles who pay retail during the 2009 tax year.
