2008 Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid

At the 2007 Los Angeles Auto Show, the Tahoe Hybrid received the title of “Green Car of the Year."  This award was questionable, since the Tahoe Hybrid doesn’t even meet the Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standard.

The Tahoe Hybrid is equipped with a 6.0-liter V8 gasoline engine that generates 332 horsepower and 367 pound-feet of torque. The engine includes a cylinder deactivation system that can hut down four of its eight cylinders when the additional power is not needed. With this technology this vehicle is able to save a lot of gas. The Tahoe Hybrid is able to accelerate using only the electric motor, unlike other large hybrid vehicles. In addition, the Tahoe Hybrid has two 60-kilowatt electric motors that boost the gas engine and help improve the mpg.

The Tahoe hybrid averages 21 miles-per-gallon in the city and 22 mpg on the highway: a twenty-five percent improvement on average over 5.3-liter gasoline model.

The Chevy Tahoe Hybrid is loaded with interior feature, such as a Bose premium speaker system (9 speakers),  DVD entertainment system, leather-wrapped steering wheel, navigation, and a back-up camera.
